How it all started.

A life should be remembered
by all who touched it.

Our story

Building Forget Me Not Ceremonies was personal for me.

It all started when Jim, a dear friend through work, passed away unexpectedly. Jim and I didn’t see each other often, but when we did, it was like no time had passed at all. He was fantastic to be around, and our personalities aligned from day one.

It was difficult to hear that he had passed so suddenly. In addition to the distance and finances required to attend his funeral (all not in my favor), my mother was nearing the end of her battle with cancer. I knew there was no way I could be at Jim’s funeral. I needed to be home with her.

Not being at my friend’s funeral was difficult. I thought, “Why couldn’t funeral homes live stream these services so people like me could still take part?” I talked to my mother about the idea. She graciously listened, as she always did, and encouraged me to pursue it. Sadly, she passed away a few weeks later.

In four short weeks, I had experienced what it was like to miss a friend’s funeral and to see firsthand all those who couldn’t make it to my own mother’s funeral.

It underscored again how live streaming would have helped so many people over the past few weeks. It was a simple answer to the challenges of distance, time, finances, and health problems that may make it difficult to attend a ceremony in person.

Today, I’m really proud of the system we developed. Designed with care, there is now a secure way to help everyone begin to process their grief and say goodbye to a life that touched them.

To my mother and to Jim – this is for you.

Our mission

Connect family and friends

Our core mission is to gather the full life story of the families you assist. We do this by bringing everyone together: extended family, friends, and acquaintances. Many of us have connections that go much further than immediate family. These connections can offer forgotten memories, pictures, and stories to help others along their grief journey. With Forget Me Not Ceremonies, we guide and encourage guests to share these precious moments for those left behind, to have and cherish in one simple place.

Empower funeral directors

Our mission is to also empower funeral directors to create exceptional live streaming experiences for the families they serve while driving revenue for the funeral home. Our fully automated system takes care of every aspect, giving your funeral director the time they need to spend with the family.
